Located centrally within the Bright township, this dwelling maximises the limited site area in which it occupies.
The client’s brief requested a two storey American barn style home that would make the most of a small building footprint while taking in the tranquillity of the parkland and creek which forms a buffer between the dwelling and Gavan Street. The result of this design and build project is a home with clean modern interior with spacious areas that belie its humble sized footprint.
Upon entry it is noticeable that thought has been given to design a home that is open, and light filled, utilising its northern aspect and views of the adjacent parkland. The entry foyer makes an immediate statement as it peers through to the main living area with parkland beyond, opening up to the mezzanine level living area which is accessed by a hardwood staircase that takes you to the attic style first floor.
The main open plan living area has direct northerly orientation with high raking ceilings and a feature fireplace that forms the centrepiece of this space.
Once at the top of the staircase, dormer windows frame the tree canopy of the parkland and capture an outlook of the distant hilltops. Sleek joinery paired with modern appliances and fixtures throughout the home compliment the light colour palette which tie together a comfortable and practical abode with all the conveniences of its central location.
